Start Pokémon Lazarus 2.0 with the right expectations
Lazarus is a complete original adventure rather than another Hoenn replay. Before entering Ilios, choose among nine starters, use the creator's exact BPS package and decide your difficulty, level-cap and EXP Share settings from the included documentation.
All nine verified starter choices
| Starter trio | Choices | What is verified |
|---|---|---|
| Alola | Rowlet · Litten · Popplio | Choose from the Generation 7 trio. |
| Kalos | Chespin · Fennekin · Froakie | Choose from the Generation 6 trio. |
| Paldea | Sprigatito · Fuecoco · Quaxly | Choose from the Generation 9 trio. |
The creator package establishes the choices, but it does not prescribe one universally best starter. Choose around the team you want to build rather than treating an unsupported tier list as fact.
What kind of game is Lazarus?
Ilios is a new region inspired by Greek geography, history and mythology. The campaign has its own towns, routes, characters and story, with more than 400 obtainable Pokémon, more than 60 optional sidequests, minigames, outfits and optional Mega Evolution.
That makes Lazarus a strong fit for players who want discovery and a full original journey while keeping familiar GBA controls. The developer does not publish an official hour count, so PDR leaves playtime open rather than inventing one.
Choose settings before committing to the save
Version 2.0 documents multiple difficulty and level-cap options plus configurable EXP Share. Use the included creator documents for the exact behavior of each choice before starting; the public release description is not detailed enough to reproduce every setting safely here.
HM handling and a dependable Fakemon classification remain UNKNOWN. Those gaps are deliberately visible instead of being filled from memory or an unofficial copy.
Use the official BPS route
- Open Nemo622's creator-owned version 2.0 package.
- Read the bundled README for the exact matching clean English Emerald base.
- Apply the supplied BPS patch locally to your own legally obtained base game.
- Use the included encounter and reference PDFs while playing.
If the free Ko-fi package is temporarily unavailable, wait for it to return. Do not replace the official route with a ROM, prepatched game or mirror.
Protect a long Ilios playthrough
Keep regular in-game backups and retain an untouched copy before changing versions or hardware. Do not assume an emulator save state is a complete migration plan. If a build or save cannot be identified, preserve it before experimenting.
Continue through the verified PLAY cluster
