Pokémon game versions and update checks

Three dates, three different questions

• Recorded release date: a date retained in the game record. It may refer to an older release or the project’s first release. The table identifies the few records whose version and date were confirmed together in a scoped review.
• Catalog source check: the original full-record source-review date. It is not automatically advanced when someone edits this page.
• Scoped release review: a separate, limited review. A dated review can fail to confirm the version or release date; it is not a full gameplay, device or source-record recheck.

Open the game profile for the scope and creator-source notice. If a link is paused, leave installation paused; this page supplies no mirror or replacement route.

The saved list compares the version and catalog-check date in your device’s stored snapshot with this catalog when you visit. A changed profile flag is not a new-release alert, and an unchanged flag is not proof that the creator has published nothing.

A save label needs a version pair

The table shows the recorded save label, stated transition and separate save-guidance check date where available. If the transition is unknown, do not extend a general label to your exact old and new versions.

A recent release date does not test an old save. An emulator state is not interchangeable with an ordinary in-game save.

Prepare a separate destination

Keep the working game and its ordinary save together as a backup. Record the source and destination versions, editions and languages before changing files.

• ROM patch: confirm whether the creator requires an untouched base or an intermediate patched output. Follow the local patching guide; a checksum mismatch is not a reason to bypass validation.
• Standalone game: use the creator’s folder and save-location instructions, not a ROM patcher.
• Source build: use the intended source revision and required toolchain, not an assumed match with the default branch.

The installation-model guide separates those routes. A catalog listing does not establish a working package, exact base or allowed source link for every project.

Check normal save behavior before retiring a backup

1. Confirm the new build’s identity and version where the creator documents them.
2. Apply the stated migration procedure to a copy, only when it covers your version pair.
3. Check recognizable progress after a normal launch, not just an old emulator state.
4. Save inside the game, close normally and confirm Continue restores that new save.
5. Keep the old build and matching backup until the destination behaves as expected.

If a step fails, keep both copies and record the first failure. Use the patch-to-play diagnostic branches to separate input, launch and missing-save problems. These are checks for you to perform, not tests we carried out on your game or device.
