How Pocket Deal Radar checks game facts and sources
Pocket Deal Radar uses creator sources for game facts and local tools for file checks. A source check is not a playtest or a safety verdict.
Updated 14 Oct 2026. This page describes our evidence rules and the limits of the catalog.
Three different kinds of evidence
- Stated by the creator. A version, base requirement or save rule comes from the creator’s own page, thread, repository or documentation. It applies to the release described there, not every version of the game.
- Checked by us. A file checksum, patch requirement or recorded version change comes from a specific check. Its scope matters: matching bytes does not show that a whole game plays correctly.
- Played by the owner. A hands-on claim needs dated notes naming the game version, device and emulator or runtime. Do not read a catalog entry or a setup guide as a hands-on review.
Completion, difficulty settings and system requirements are separate facts. None is an overall quality rating or a promise that a file is harmless.
Sources and missing details
Game facts must come from the creator, the official patch or our own checks and tests. A third-party catalog, wiki, community comment or AI answer does not establish a confirmed game fact.
A base-file reference may use a public preservation database. An achievement-based playtime needs a median for the main achievement set from at least 20 players. That figure is not a promised playtime for a new player.
Missing facts should say “Not stated by the creator”. We do not infer save compatibility from a matching filename, a similar game or a newer version number. The creator’s instructions for the exact version pair take priority.
What the dates mean
- Release date: when the creator says that game version was released.
- Checked: when a recorded source comparison took place. It does not mean the game was played or that a later release has been checked.
- Updated: when the page’s main content changed. A layout edit or a repeated visit to an unchanged source does not make the facts newly checked.
A catalog note can describe a correction or a source check, not just a new release. Read its description before treating it as an update to the game.
How AI helps build the site
AI helps research, organize, draft and edit this site. It is a worker, not a source. A factual claim still needs evidence; AI must not fill a gap with a plausible guess or invent a person, play session or test result.
Publication checks look for technical and copy errors, such as broken internal links, missing assets, empty fact cells and leftover template text. Passing those checks does not prove that a game fact is correct or that a device was tested.
Older pages are being reviewed
We are reviewing older records against stricter evidence rules. Do not assume that every legacy page has been rechecked or that every fact has a complete source trail.
Our game-profile admission rule requires the core release and installation facts, a recent source check and at least one game-specific contribution of our own, such as a verified base requirement, a recorded version history or a documented test. Withdrawn projects do not qualify.
Guides with missing need evidence stay out of the search index while they await review or rebuilding. They can remain reachable in the guide directory. Search visibility is not an endorsement or proof of hands-on use.
What the file tools can tell you
The ROM checker and ROM patcher work on files you select in your browser. Those files are not uploaded to Pocket Deal Radar.
Read the tool’s result and its limits. A file identification, checksum match or successful patch operation does not prove save compatibility, emulator support or a trouble-free playthrough. Keep your original files and back up progress before changing a working setup.
Corrections
Use the contact route on About to report a mistake or make a creator request. Include the page URL, the game version and the creator source that supports the correction. Do not send ROMs, BIOS files or private save files.
- : removed the old recommendation-label definitions and the claim that guides qualify for search by default. Added the limits of source checks, AI assistance and hands-on claims.
