Can Retroid Pocket 5 play Pokémon Infinite Fusion?
Use the creator's Android runtime path, then check controls, saving and updates separately. Your GBA emulator is a different installation.
Choose the right installation
Infinite Fusion is a standalone game in our catalog. GBA patches such as Unbound use a different emulator workflow. Use the installation-model guide when deciding which files belong in which app.
Keep three identities together in your notes: the game build, the Android runtime bundle and the executable selected by JoiPlay. A friendly launcher title cannot identify those files. Before replacing a working installation, locate and back up its readable saves.
Prepare the creator's Android setup
The creator specifies its own game/plugin downloads, removal of previous JoiPlay/RPG Maker installations, then JoiPlay before the plugin. Follow the current source's order after backing up progress. Extract both archives and add InfiniteFusion.exe in JoiPlay.
- Preserve the working installation: keep the old game folder and independent save copies. Confirm that you can find those copies before changing apps.
- Use the creator's current instructions: compare your planned files and installation sequence against the linked guide. Resolve any disagreement there before starting.
- Identify the extracted destination: write down the new game folder and selected executable. Do not add an archive or an old shortcut by mistake.
- Check a short launch: first establish whether the selected entry reaches the title screen. Record an error verbatim if it does not.
This staged workflow is our suggested way to isolate a problem. It does not certify a download or establish compatibility of arbitrary replacement app versions. Use the creator's source links; this page does not mirror game or plugin files.
Check settings inside a loaded save
The team says to set Text Entry → Cursor, enable Download Data and set Device → Mobile while loaded into a save. For an already-Mobile setting it instructs PC → Mobile, saving settings and restarting.
| Checkpoint | Try | Record |
|---|---|---|
| Launch | Open the intended JoiPlay entry | Title screen or exact error |
| Input | Move, select and return from a harmless menu | Which input method works |
| Text entry | Check a naming prompt when available | Whether cursor selection responds |
| Progress | Save in-game, close normally and reopen | Continue and recognizable team/location |
These are proposed checks, not observed Pocket 5 results. If the title screen works but input does not, investigate input next. If controls work but Continue is missing, move to the save check rather than repeating installation blindly.
Separate gamepad support from game actions
The creator's controller procedure is explicitly Bluetooth-scoped; it does not verify the Pocket 5's built-in controls. The guide identifies Enter for confirm, Escape for menus/cancel, Q for speed and D for key items.
First choose a control method that lets you enter and leave a menu reliably. Then check a short walk and the actions your current adventure needs. Keep speed controls out of the first diagnosis: ordinary movement and confirm/cancel should work before testing convenience shortcuts.
A RetroArch game remap changes another app's input path. It will not configure JoiPlay. If you are actually playing a GBA hack, use the RetroArch remap guide. For Fusion, keep the runtime and controller procedure matched to the creator documentation.
Update without merging old and new folders
The Android guide has no built-in updater: rename the old folder, extract a fresh game folder, copy saves, and replace the JoiPlay entry with the new executable. Its save example is File A.rxdata, with exact case and a space, not an underscore.
- Choose a progress checkpoint: note your team and last saved location in the working game, then preserve independent save copies.
- Keep installations distinguishable: retain the old folder separately while following the creator's new-folder procedure. Note which folder each launcher entry targets.
- Transfer copies: check the exact save names in the new destination before launching. Keep the originals available.
- Verify the new entry: open Continue and compare the recognizable checkpoint. Then save, close normally and repeat that launch.
- Keep rollback available: retain the old installation and original saves until the new setup is established. A title screen alone is not that result.
Consult the creator for the exact release transition before importing. The copy-first sequence protects your originals; it does not establish that every old save is accepted by every new build. The update hub explains the separate game-compatibility question.
Find the failing stage
| Observed symptom | Check next | A useful result |
|---|---|---|
| No executable available to select | Extraction and selected destination folder | You can identify the intended extracted game entry |
| Entry fails before the title screen | Exact error, runtime bundle and creator's matching error section | One documented next action, recorded separately |
| Title screen responds; gameplay controls fail | Actual input method and creator's controller scope | Movement and menu navigation work in that method |
| New installation has no Continue | Copied save identity, spelling and selected new folder | Expected checkpoint becomes available |
| Update appears unchanged | Executable target of the launcher entry | You establish which installation was opened |
| Progress loads once but disappears later | Same entry, in-game saving and repeated launch | The same recognizable checkpoint survives |
Do one comparison at a time. Replacing the runtime, game build, launcher target and save in one attempt makes the outcome difficult to interpret. If a source instruction calls for removing files, confirm your independent progress backup before following it.
Example: an update opens the old adventure
You extracted a new folder, but tapping the familiar JoiPlay card still appears to open the old installation. Before another download, compare the entry's executable target with the new folder you recorded. The display name alone cannot resolve that question.
Once the intended new entry is identified, check Continue and your saved team/location there. If the checkpoint is absent, preserve both installations and investigate the save-copy step. If it is present, save and repeat the new launch before retiring the older setup. This example describes decisions, not a completed transfer on a real device.
Installation and update questions
Can I put Infinite Fusion in my GBA ROM folder?
It belongs to the standalone runtime path. A GBA emulator or browser ROM patcher cannot install the JoiPlay setup described here.
Does the device list prove the built-in buttons work?
No. Source-reported device support and the guide's Bluetooth controller instructions do not establish our physical-unit result for built-in controls.
Why does the new folder open without my progress?
Check the selected installation and copied save identity before overwriting anything. Keep readable originals while verifying the creator's exact filename and migration requirements.
Should I rename a GBA save to File A.rxdata?
No. A filename change does not convert GBA cartridge data into this standalone game's save format.
When is the update checked?
For your setup, verify the intended new entry, Continue, recognizable progress and another in-game save/relaunch. Pocket Deal Radar has not performed that physical-device check.
